GLSML New Players Day – Get involved in London Softball

If you would like to join a team or give softball a go then the GLSML New Players Day is perfect for you! The atmosphere is always very relaxed and we’re looking for players of all abilities. So if you’ve been playing for years, haven’t played for a long time or never held a bat before there will be something going on for you.

It’s happening at 11am on Saturday 16 April 2016, at Wandsworth Common (by The Hope pub on Bellevue). And it’s absolutely free!

The aim of the day is to match new players and existing league teams. We will try to make sure you are introduced to teams that match your ability, location as well as the level of competition you’re looking for. There will be a few batting and fielding drills followed by a friendly pickup game to give you a chance to show off your skills.

For those who are brand new to softball there will be an introduction to the game led by Liam Morrison, Development Officer. Gloves will be provided upon request. The aim of this is to get people up and running with the basics of softball and give them a taste of why it’s such a great game to play. Softball is a fantastic opportunity to meet new people, learn a new game, have a bit of a run around and spend your summer evenings outdoors.

After playing ball for a couple of hours we’ll over the road for some hard earned refreshments.

Get in touch with our New Players officer () to let us know that you’re coming down, and bring a friend too – the more the merrier!
