UPDATE: Location has changed to a slightly different part of Wandsworth Common. New location map.
If you would like to join a team or give softball a go then the GLSML New Players Day is perfect for you!
The aim of the day is to match new players and existing league teams. We will try to make sure you are introduced to teams that match your ability, location as well as the level of competition you’re looking for. There will be a few batting and fielding drills followed by a friendly pickup game to give you a chance to show off your skills.
The atmosphere is always very relaxed and we’re looking for players of all abilities. So if you’ve been playing for years, haven’t played for a long time or never held a bat before there will be something going on for you.
It’s happening at 2pm on Sunday 2 April 2016, at Wandsworth Common (by the cricket fields on Trinity Rd). And it’s absolutely free!
New to the game?
For those who are brand new to softball there will be an introduction to the game. Gloves will be provided upon request. The aim of this is to get people up and running with the basics of softball and give them a taste of why it’s such a great game to play.
After playing ball for a couple of hours we’ll over the road for some hard earned refreshments. We’ll be heading to Le Gothique just around the corner from the field.
Get in touch with our New Players officer (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you have any questions, and bring a friend too – the more the merrier!
